Scope of this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (the “Policy” or the “Privacy Policy”) describes how FEM-START BV collects, uses, consults or otherwise processes an individual’s Personal Data. For the purposes of this policy, “FEM-START” refers to FEM-START BV., a company incorporated under the law of The Netherlands having its registered address at Rijswijkseplein 137, 2516 GZ Den Haag, The Netherlands and company registration number 58561129.

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of  www.fem-start.com and https://courses.fem-start.com/ (the “Websites”) by anyone who visits, registers and/or purchases products via the Websites [the “User”]. Via these websites, we collect personally identifiable information. In this Privacy Policy, we aim at covering the concerning aspects related to the collection of the FEM-START’s User information. This policy is provided in accordance with the obligations imposed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

FEM-START will not collect any personally identifiable information about a User unless it is in response to the user using the Websites or actively registering or purchasing one of FEM-START’s online products.

2.1. Registering on the Websites

When a User registers on the Websites, creates a profile, subscribes to the courses offered on the platform or purchases a course, FEM-START and third parties working with us will collect the following information:

    • Home address, and telephone number (necessary when registering for the courses offered via the Websites).

    • Credit/debit card information (necessary when registering for the courses offered via the Websites).

    • Data relating to your use of the Websites, engagement with online courses and interactions on our community platform.

    • Information provided by you when you correspond with us (including via surveys).

    • Other information you choose to provide about your interests, educational background, occupation and work experience, learning goals, and other general learning preferences for the purpose of making course recommendations on our website or, if you’ve opted in, via email and personalising our services to your needs.

2.2. Learning Journey

When you are participating in an Online Course, we and third parties may collect and store the following additional information:

    • any email communications with FEM-START to seek user support or to send queries related to the Course

    • any content submitted by you during the Course or interactions on the community platform

    • responses you voluntarily provide to FEM-START in questionnaires, surveys, or user research that you participate in related to the online courses

2.3. Accessing the Website  

When you access the Website we may use cookies to track, collect, and aggregate information about your use of the Website, including pages you have visited, the specific URLs that brought you to our Website, and links embedded on our Website that you have accessed.  This information may include IP addresses and any information collected by cookies.  This may also include information such as the time and length of visits to certain pages on our website and page interaction information. 3.1. In providing our online services and products to you, we and the third parties we work with will collect, store, and use your personal information for the following purposes:

4.1. 4.2.1. our payment services providers (i) Stripe Inc; and (ii) iDEAL;

4.2.2. our IT providers;

4.2.3. customer relationship management service providers (which allows us, for example, to send personalised email communications to you);

5. Legal Basis for Processing Your Information

We have several legal bases for collecting and using the personal information described above.  They are:

5.1. Where the use of your personal information is necessary to perform our obligations under any contract with you (including providing you with access to Online Courses on the Website for which you have registered and/or made a purchase);

5.2. Where we have your explicit consent to collect, store, and use your information for a particular purpose, including where you consent to receive marketing and promotional communications for products on our Website or third-party websites;

6. Storage and Security of Information

6.1. All information is stored on our secure servers based in the Netherlands. When you register, we will ask you to choose a password which enables you to access the Online Courses. You are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share this password with anyone.

6.2. We have put in place security measures to prevent the loss or unauthorised access to your personal information. However, whilst we have used our best efforts to ensure the security of your data, it is your responsibility to make an informed decision to avail yourself of our services and products or if your concerns about the handling of data require you to refrain from using our Website.

7.1. We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).

7.2. You may also email us at info@fem-start.com in order to access, correct, or update your personal information on our systems. We will answer every email as promptly as possible.

8.1.4. Similarly, if we have collected and processed your personal information on the basis of your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time.  Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
