Hi Marieke! We’re thrilled to be chatting with you today. Could you share a little bit about yourself?
My passion is to use communication as a powerful tool to create meaningful impact. My background is in communication- and information science with a minor in journalism.
Tell us, what is your role at FEM-START?
Coordinating the communication, community and events and aligning those aspects with the mission of FEM-START. My tasks involve content creation, building community and organizing events.
Why is it important to you to work in strengthening female entrepreneurship? Why FEM-START and its mission to bridge the funding gap?
We are in a beautiful new era with more and more female entrepreneurs and a lot of them don’t have the same knowledge, skills and network yet simply because most men started more early with entrepreneurship. There are so many passionate and creative female entrepreneurs out there who could elevate their businesses to the next level and create more impact with funding. That’s what inspires me most to be on this mission with FEM-START.
Since half a year, I am also on my own entrepreneurial journey. What I have found out so far is how valuable it is to connect with other female entrepreneurs to share ideas, discuss challenges and celebrate successes together. What I hope to achieve at FEM-START is to create an inspiring, safe and valuable community for female entrepreneurs where everyone uplifts each other.
What aspect of your job at FEM-START do you enjoy the most? What do you look forward to?
I feel grateful to work with all the passionate women of the FEM-START team and I enjoy the powerful and inspiring energy they all bring. My favourite aspect is when everything comes together in the events we organize and to see the result of thriving connecting women of our community.
Our member mixer in May at a beautiful location which will be announced soon.
